For the Inalsa Group, it is essential to carry out our activity by promoting sustainable development and respecting the environment to place ourselves in a position of leadership and differentiation with respect to our competitors. For this reason, the company puts into practice the general principles of the Environmental Management System. In addition, the group’s plants considered to have the greatest environmental impact are certified in ISO 14001, according to the application criteria of the Integrated Environmental Authorization.

The environmental policy applies to all the entity’s activities, regardless of their nature or the place where they are carried out. It is also mandatory for all employees of the organization and other interest groups linked to the entity.

Circular economy and raw material sourcing

At the INALSA Group we consider that, to have sustainable growth, it is very important to make efficient use of resources, both raw and auxiliary materials, in addition to promoting initiatives that contribute to evolving towards a circular economy model. This is possible thanks to a continuous improvement approach, with internal productivity and environmental objectives.

The circular economy is an example of efficiency and responsible resource management. For this reason, our aluminium suppliers are always asked for a sample of recyclability in their materials, if they manufacture it via casting. If the supplier generates the aluminium by electrolysis, it starts directly from the alumina, so priority is given to those who demonstrate that the electrical energy they consume comes directly from renewable sources, generating a low carbon footprint.

Can be reused and have a second life
Its service life can last for decades
Its characteristics make it indefinitely recyclable

Our main suppliers have, on average, a recycled aluminium ratio of between 35% and 45%. In the manufacturing process, scrap is generated due to saw cuts, billet remains or quality defects. That scrap is recycled to the manufacturer that generates the aluminium billet; In this way, it is possible not to waste aluminium and to reuse it in manufacturing, generating a simple and complete circular economy. All aluminium scrap generated in the Inalsa group is sent to be remelted and converted back into billet, which is approximately between 15% and 25% of the billet purchased.

Furthermore, aluminium recycling requires less energy than its initial production, so it is a fundamental piece to change from a linear model of waste production to a circular one. As aluminium has great durability, the negative impact on the environment is minimized. This metal is characterized by being respectful of the environment, abundant, infinitely recyclable and very durable. Its quality and material properties are never lost.

Climate Change

Adopting measures to minimize the effects of climate change is part of the short and long-term interests of the Inalsa Group. The main measures taken by the company to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated by the activities it carries out are included in the carbon footprint calculation study, where the tons of CO2 equivalent for each ton of profile produced are analyzed.
